- Regular sessions are conducted from Monday to Friday. The schedules are
designed on the basis of individual capability of each student with the
objective of improving various skill sets such as Cognitive, Communication, ADL
(Activities of Daily Living) and Self –help skills aiming at improving individual self reliance which ultimately result in
making the individual self-reliant.
- The teaching methodology followed in CATCH is based on the principle that
Individuals with autism are strong visual learners, thus PECS (Picture Exchange
Communication) method is extensively used. Visual scheduling is used on a day to
day basis to keep note of the daily routine . Students are trained hands on to be more confortable with the concept.
- Admissions are done on the basis of the age group and the availability of seats.
Following initial assessment an age-appropriate skill development plan is made
and implemented.
- Individualized attention, inputs on induvidual preferances from parents, consultative and co-ordinated care are the core principles followed at CATCH.
- Capacity-building programs are conducted periodically by inviting experts.
Vocational Activities
- CATCH has a small vocational unit which imparts skills to young adults in non-hazardous trades.
- The trades the unit is currently engaged in the production of paper bags, gift envelopes, diyas, candles, organic Holi colors, greeting cards, etc. and plans are afloat to expand the number of trades.
- There is a huse demand for these products of CATCH which are often purchased by family members , friends and well wishers who have been a constant support in the journey of CATCH.
Our Flagship Program
A twice a week pilot lives skill development programme called “Canteen day” has been implemented by engaging young adults for preparation of their own food on selected days.
The students are
involved in the complete process - from deciding the menu - shopping for the required
groceries and vegitables - prepping for the meal - cooking the entire meal. Their tought to follow a step-by-step pictorial guide for better understanding and clarity. The students look forward to the “canteen days” and the concept is
getting popular among them.
